Lambo Beagles Show

Unfortunatly this years show has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances but will resume again next year as usual.

We will be hosting Field Events for Lurchers, Terriers and Family Dogs There shall also be showing for Lurchers, Terriers Family Dogs and Ferrets.

There will be a BBQ and live band on the Saturday evening and a bar all weekend. There will also be stalls, bouncy castles, an ice cream van, home made cakes, tea, coffee and lots more. Camping for the weekend is available for all who wish to come and stay.

The Show is organised by a few followers of the Lambo Beagles and proceeds are donated to them and other local organisations.

The Lambo Beagles were formed in 1986 by Mr. Peter Curnow and are an unregistered, private pack. His son, Joseph Curnow, became Master in 2002 at the age of 14 and was possibly the youngest Master in the country at that time. As the years have moved on we have lost that “claim to fame”, but believe we may have the oldest active Whipper-in, as Mr. Archie Richards, who still performs his duties at the age of 85 !

The Huntsman, James Warren and two of his other Whips, Jonathon Hosken and Phil Pengelly, are farmers and often have to milk cows both before and after a day’s hunting. Their stamina has to be admired as hounds are hunted on foot over some very difficult terrain.

There are usually 16 couples of hounds kept in kennels, but numbers can increase when bitches have whelped. The normal pack is generally divided equally between dogs and bitches.

We look forward to seeing you at the show in not only a show of your support for our Beagle pack, but also for you to have a great time with perhaps the winning of a few rosettes.
